Specialization
I am interested in cycling of elements mainly (but not exclusively) in forest ecosystems, the impact of human activity on cycles, acidification and N saturation of forest systems, the impact on N and CN (P) retention interactions, nitrate dynamics in ecosystems, and the importance and measurement of microbial N immobilization and microbial community structure. In my research, I use, besides other classical techniques, stable isotopes, and ion exchange resin soil probes.
