1998: PhD in environmental chemistry (Influence of atmospheric deposition on acidification and trophic status of surface waters in mountain areas), Charles University, Prague
2003 and 2007: Assoc. professor and professor, respectively, in hydrobiology, Fac. Biol. Sciences, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (USB)
Employment:
1980–1985: Water and air quality manager, Environmental Section of Calofrig Company, Czech Republic
1986–1998: A member (since 1994 a head) of chemical laboratory, Institute of Hydrobiology, Academy of Science of the Czech Republic (ASCR) (water, soil, and precipitation analyses, new methods).
1994–present: Assistant, assoc. prof., and professor at University of South Bohemia (currently 30% contract for teaching and ecological research).
1998–2003: Research associate, Hydrobiological Institute, ASCR (atmospheric deposition, soil and water chemistry, acidification and recovery of alpine and forest ecosystems).
2003–present: Senior scientist, Biology Centre ASCR, Institute of Hydrobiology
Projects: Principal investigator or co-investigator of 6 national or international projects (GACR, NFM) and participation in 5 EU projects focused on mountain ecosystems (AL:PE2, MOLAR, EMERGE) and modeling the effects of global changes on aquatic ecosystems (EURO-LIMPACS, REFRESH).
