Abstrakt: 

Two soils from Bohemian Forest were incubated in oxic and anoxic conditions. Soils were characterized by high iron content (Certovo, 240 mM Fe/kg) and low iron content (Plesne, 35 mM Fe/kg). Iron, as one of the most common elements in soil, is an important electron acceptor in anoxic conditions and it will control biogeochemical soil processes. The study shows how iron presence affects C distribution into different C sinks: microbial biomass, respiration, and exudates.
